Bob's Red Mill Creamy Wheat Hot Cereal, also known as Wheat Farina, has been a favorite around the mill for many years. It's a finely granulated cereal made from hard red wheat. The farina is produced by gently cracking the grain and then air purifying to remove most of the lighter-weight bran particles from the heavier endosperm. This creates a creamy, sweet tasting porridge also known as cream of wheat. Smooth and satisfying, this wholesome wheat cereal will fill you up and keep you going. It's low in fat and has no added sugar. When prepared with milk or formula, it's an easy-to-swallow breakfast cereal that kids love. Our Creamy Wheat Hot Cereal contains wheat with added niacin, iron, thiamine, riboflavin and folic acid. Of course, you can enjoy our farina hot as a cereal, but you can also use it in baked goods or make dumplings for beef stew!

Delicious and creamy if you don't follow the package directions
This is a delicious cereal, but making it according to package directions produces a lumpy, extremely thick mixture. Why is the ratio for one stove top serving 1 part cereal to 4 parts liquid while the ratio for 2 servings is 1:3? For all serving sizes I have been using a 1:5 ratio of cereal to liquid with great results. I was going to return to using the old standard "name brand", which doesn't taste as good to me, until I decided to figure out why I was having such a hard time making Bob's Creamy. 5 Stars for the cereal; 3 for making me figure out how to cook it.

Poor Imitation
I like most of the Bob's Red Mill products I've tried, the Creamy Wheat is the exception - the texture and taste are substantially inferior to the real Cream of Wheat, which is becoming hard to find. BRM Creamy Wheat is ground much finer than the original, forms lumps more easily and just doesn't match up to the original at all.

Significantly less iron than other brands
Cream of Wheat brand seems to have 9x the iron than this one. I am not sure why that is, but I am iron deficient, I need to switch away.

I've been enjoying cream of wheat / farina for almost 70 years. Being a big fan of Bob's Red Mill products I was excited to spot Creamy Wheat on the shelf at my store. After a few mornings of lumpy hot cereal I decided to go back to my regular brand of Cream of Wheat. Not sure what's different, but the two products perform very differently.

possibly contains artificially added iron dust.... if so , that's not good for body or brain. The organic version doesn't list added iron but the iron level is the same ????

Winter comfort food!
When the weather turns cold, I reach for hot cereal made from wheat farina. It's a comfort food since childhood and Bob's Creamy Wheat is smoother and tastier than the old standby.

Nice, creamy wheat cereal. If you microwave your cereal it must be stirred often or it will be lumpy.... I found a small whisk works better than a spoon. I like that it does not have an excessive amount of iron added.

Excellent cereal. I add vanilla when it is done cooking. Also, you need to use a wire wisk to stir it, or it comes out lumpy.
