I have a senior miniature dachshund and Her Highness is very fussy about her food but she LOVES Blue Buffalo Chicken and Blue Buffalo Chicken for Seniors! It's definitely worth the extra few pennies it costs over other foods and her vet highly recommends it as well.

The ingredients are great, and the packaging is perfect for the type of product it is since it holds its shape. The price is not bad.

Picky golden retriever at meal time. Loves Blue Buffalo Recipe Beef dinner with Garden Vegetables as a topping on his dry kibble . He gets excited when the can is opened and you spoon it over his kibble. He dances until you give it to him.

I’ve been feeding my dog this food and I couldn’t be happier. The first ingredients are real chicken (or beef), liver, and broth, not by-products. It also includes healthy vegetables and fruits like carrots, peas, sweet potatoes, blueberries, and cranberries, plus fish oil and flaxseed for omega 3s. I like that it has added joint support (glucosamine and chondroitin), prebiotics (chicory root), and chelated minerals, which are easier to absorb. My dog’s coat is shiny, digestion is great, and she has good steady energy. Compared to other foods I considered, this one uses whole foods instead of heavy fillers and has a much more transparent ingredient list. I feel confident feeding it and recommend it to anyone who wants better long-term nutrition for their pup.

We’ve always fed our girl Blue Buffalo, started with kibble as a puppy and moved up to adult as she got older. Life Protection Chicken and Brown Rice. She got incredibly picky so added a bit of canned Homestyle Chicken or Beef which she enjoys. The last several cans opened have been, not just pâté, but mush. It is not an outdated can but it is rather disgusting. We’re a bit concerned. (Will not allow me to add images)

My dog likes it, however there is always an issue opening the can, the tab always breaks. Had to use a can opener. Sometimes metal shavings get into the food. Had to throw out an entire can. Maybe I got a bad lot, not sure, but switching to something else for the time being

out of all the brands at petsmart, this is the only one without bad ingredients. she loves this wet food, I mix it in with her blue buffalo life protection dry food.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a nice and gentle food which has been nice for the older doggies! It has all the good stuff that they need to thrive and be healthy. It hasn't caused any upset stomach problems and they seem to really enjoy the taste! This comes in a standard can which is fine, has a nice beefy smell and a pate texture.

About three months ago, our dog became very sick with severe diarrhea. At the time, we were feeding her a combination of Blue Buffalo Chicken flavor dry food and Blue Buffalo Beef flavor for Adults canned food. We had to take her to the vet to try to see what was wrong with her. She was tested for parasites which was negative and the vet could find nothing wrong with her. She was prescribed some medication which helped with the diarrhea but when the medicine ran out, the severe diarrhea returned. We discussed with our the vet the possibility that there may be something wrong with the dog food we were feeding her. The vet did not know for sure but said it could be a possibility. We changed her diet, eliminated Blue Buffalo completely, gave her some special canned food for sensitive GI systems and she eventually returned to normal. The vet recommended that we very gradually attempt to reintroduce Blue Buffalo food back into her diet. Over the course of about one month, we started to give her Blue Buffalo food again. We first started with a small amount of Blue Buffalo Chicken flavor dry food which she tolerated fine. We then started to reintroduce Blue Buffalo Chicken flavor canned food again which she also tolerated fine. Then a couple of days ago, we began to feed her small amounts of Blue Buffalo Beef flavored canned food again and within two days, her severe diarrhea returned. Of course there is no way to definitively say it is the Blue Buffalo Beef flavored canned food that is responsible for her problem but by the process of elimination, it seems very likely to us that this is the problem. She tolerated all other types of food just fine; steamed rice, boiled chicken, the special canned food an even the other types and flavors of Blue Buffalo, just not the Beef flavor. We're not sure if she is just sensitive to some of the ingredients or it we got a bad batch. We will be contacting Blue Buffalo directly and provide them with the lot number on the can.
