I get HORRIBLE horrible cold sores and I have been using the ointment blistex for like 20+ years now. It is a staple in my house, I buy it in bulk just so I have one SOMEWHERE when I get a cold sore. I have never found another med that gives INSTANT relief once you put it on. Most other projects I see are variants of lip balms or petroleum jelly style and help with protecting, but they don't give that immediate relief. This one makes my lip immediately stop itching and helps keep me from constantly touching my cold sore. I legitimately buy it in bulk whenever I start feeling the lip tingle of a cold sore and I recommend it to everyone for cold sore/split lip/cracked lip relief! I can't overstate how much I love this med, I don't think I could handle cold sore season without it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great lipbalm that has the icy feeling that Blistex products have. It keeps my lips hydrated for a while, but then my lips feel dry again. Other lipbalms have kept my lips hydrated longer which is why I gave it 4 stars.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first received this medicated lip ointment. I wasn't sure what to expect. I thought it might be the same as all the others. I was completely wrong. I used this on my son's lips and mouth. He seems to get dry red lips and the same at the corners of his mouth when the weather changes. This medicated lip ointment worked wonders. I applied it right before he went to bed. When he woke up it looked much better. The redness was gone. I applied more before he went to school. By the time he got home. You couldn't really tell. I did apply it to his lips for the next few days as it was rainy and cooler. It cleared completely in 5 days. It usually takes 7 to 10 days with others that I have used. I highly recommend this lip ointment!!!!!!!!

I still prefer another brand that starts with an A, but I do like this applicator better. The scent could be lessened in my opinion as it can interfere with your senses. Lasts a good deal of time and not too dehydrating on your lips.

The only thing I didnt like is that it's not clear and leaves a white cast, so I couldn't use this on the go and instead only used this at home.

The product does soothe irritated chapped lips but leaves a white cast. The formula also seems to not have changed in all this years so it doesn’t quite compare to newer balms. My biggest complaint is the constant need to reapply to feel hydrated. Overall it works but won’t be replacing anything in my collection.

The only thing I would say i dont like about this is that it leaves a white cast if too much is used so you will need to keep reapplying every so often.
