Q: Is this Black and Decker hedge trimmer model number LHT2436? I have a Black and Decker mower that takes a 40V 2.0 AH battery. Can I use the 2.0 AH battery in the hedge trimmer and 1.5 AH in the mower?

  • A: This trimmer is model number: 40V MAX Lithium-Ion Dual Action 24 in. Cordless Hedge Trimmer - LHT2436 As long as the voltage is the same, the AH can differ. The battery life will adjust with the AH.

    Battery and handle issues

    I have had this hedge trimmer for several years. It works great except for 2 things. 1) I plug in the battery to the charger and after about 10 minutes the red light starts blinking. It never fully charges and I get about 30 to 45 minutes of use out of it before it dies. 2) The large black handle and the case where the handle bolts into is completely broken. The handle is actually held in place by 1 screw. I have no idea when this happened and cannot seem to find a parts manual in order to replace the casing.

    Not sure

    It was great until the gas pedal got stuck. Not sure how to fix it! It's a good product ours did well for a week. Wish it could of lasted longer! My youngest grandson almost reversed right into the river due to the gas pedal being stuck.

    This kids UTV is junk

    Had this kids 6x6 UTV for 4 months with moderate use and will not work. The back raises as well raised a couple of times. It has a plastic piece that raises it and it snapped when it tried to raise. Absolute garbage!!

    It's awful and I'd like a refund

    Really poorly made, the tires skid while my FIVE YEAR OLD drives it, and the gas pedal gets stuck on the "on" position, making it very scary for both me and my five-year-old.

    Worked so well I replaced it with its twin

    Excellent tool!! Bought it to replace one I bought 5 years ago. My half acre lot has bushes edging more than 3/4 of the lot's border, as well as around the house, so it gets a work out multiple times a year. It did an excellent job on all of it, and the 24" bar was necessary. When it gave up and started smoking, there was no question, but replacing it with the same trimmer.

    Black & Decker 40V 24IN hedge trimmer LHT2436

    We have used this light but powerful 40V, 24 inch hedge and brush trimmer for 2 years at my business and home. Works flawlessly. No battery power loss in 2nd year. Cuts 3/4 inch branches as it states.

    NO TRIM LEFT IN MY BD TRIMMER

    have had this bd 24inch trimmer for one season. l started to use this year and it worked for about 20 min. then stopped. i made sure battery was fully charged and tried again and NOTHING. The only thing i get to work is the POWER TRIM MODE.. ITS OVER A YEAR OLD SO I GUESS I HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER....NOT A BLACK AND DECKER!!!!

    Growing frustrated

    I'm on my second LHT2436 and both have broken pinion gears on the motor. Seems after a period of use (hours) the gears run dry of grease and this happens. Curious as to the number of hours I can expect from the next unit.

    Two years

    Lasted until two weeks after the warranty expired. Began to smoke heavily and died. I expected better from Black & Decker.

    Awesome trimmer

    I bought this trimmer in 2018 along with the yard blower. The blower is merely adequate and fine to blow off a driveway or sidewalk. But the 40v trimmer is better than any trimmer I have ever used. Anything that fits in the cutter teeth will be sheered off instantly. I have yet to run a battery dead. I take it from my Naples, FL home to my PA home when I head north for the summer to use on all my PA landscape and my plug in Craftsman sit in my garage. Thats how much I love it. I plan to buy a second one for PA. Just spray the cutters once with WD40 for smooth operation. This really is a professional grade tool. I highly recommend this product.
