Black & Decker BEHT350 120V 4 Amp Brushed 22 in. Corded Hedge Trimmer

I purchased this 22 inch/4 Amp trimmer as Model #BEHT350FF to replace my 35+ year old 24 inch Hedge Hog. I've only used it s few times so far, but it does a great job trimming shrubs in the yard. It's 9 inches shorter than the Hedge Hog so it doesn't reach as far, but it's lighter and not as tiring to use. I hope the 4 Amps versus 3.3 Amps means more power. Very happy so far. It's just a question of how long it will last.

So far so good- as described, seems to be better built than expected- the blades are heavy steel and the motor has a comfortable amount of power. Good job B&D!

The BEHT350 22" trimmer worked perfectly when I used it last year to trim my privet hedges. This year I got about half way through the job and started hearing the gears slipping. I let the unit cool down and then tried using it again. Same result, gears slipping and no movement of the blades. As I am sure the warranty has expired, I disassembled the trimmer only to discover that the main spindle in the blade gearbox sits in a plastic slot, which appears to have melted. I think I purchased this trimmer in early summer of 2023. It's very disappointing that the main body of the gearbox is plastic. I do not think I will purchase another Black and Decker in the future.

The 22" trimmer worked well. It trimmed rosemary bushes a couple of times a year. It was bought in June 2020. I used it six times until today. It ran a little louder than before. Soon after 25-30 minutes of trimming mostly softer wood on the growth no larger than 1/4" thick and a few 1/2" thick stems, it bound a few times and the gear sounded as it was stripped inside. It started to bind up again and again. I stopped and had to finish the job with a pair hand shear. I think the unit is broken. The unit was a replacement of another B&D hedge trimmer that lasted for over 20+ year before the motor burned out. I would be hesitate to replace with another B&D.

Used only to cut back large decorative grasses in the spring. Worked well for 3 seasons. Just failed on the job this year (2022). Really hope to get more life out of it.. Not sure what to replace it with but, looking for other options for sure.

Out of despiration, I was forced to purchase a hedge trimmer. Our HOA was in transition with hiring new gardeners and our hedges were overcoming our driveway. I ordered this trimmer, 110 volt product since I had loads of power sorces from pur garage. This tool worked flawlessly and within ten minutes I was done. This 22 inch trimmer cut through some very stiff branches and squared up the plants perfectly. Thank you for a great inexpensive product..

Good weight balance and great cutting. Although the switch can not be locked on, the switch is incorporated into the handle. As you have to hold the handle - even one-handed, to operate the trimmer the switch stays on

Excellent results, fast trimming, very light and great safety features.

Purchased and used mine twice. Quick easy and not to heavy for me to maneuver. Cut like butter. No battery to worry about losing power over time.

It works great, recommend this product. It’s my 2 one I have owned, the blades do get blunt but they last for years before you start to notice that why brought a new on .

Works fine, but not as well as my 30-year old one because: (1) the "new & improved" safety feature of no "lock-on" trigger makes it difficult to use one-handed; and (2) this model apparently shares a blade structure similar to models with a saw blade at the tip, but because this model doesn't have the saw tip, there is a "dead zone" of no cutting action right at the end.

Bought this for my 93 year old father in law and he loves it. It is very powerful, but also very light and easy to use.

The hedge trimmer is light, which makes it easier to handle and for a longer period. It cut well and never stalled. The 22-inch blade length is very beneficial for cutting more and deeper when used for shrubs and even small trees.

This is my first electric trimmer--I should have bought one years earlier. It has been trouble free so far.
