Q: I bought this record and the glow in the dark’s cool, but the record itself skips at least 10 lyrics every 3 seconds. I cleaned it to make sure it wasn’t dirty, but it’s just the record. It’s not even my player

A: It's probably too much bass for your Crosley. Get a better record player.
submitted bysjm - 5 years agoA: The record has a lot of bass and is at least 100x more likely to skip than any other record. If you have a suitcase style turntable, your issue most likely is the fact that your record player is lightweight, meaning the bass from the record is causing the needle to jump out of the groove and skip. For a temporary solution, a penny on the stylus should fix it. If you don't have a suitcase style record player, check that your anti-skate and counterweight are setup right. If you don't have those, then thats probably your issue. If you're still experiencing skipping, you may have gotten a bad press. Hope this helps!
submitted byCash - 4 years agoA: try placing a penny or two on the arm so the needle can reach into the deeper grooves of the vinyl so it doesnt skip multiple grooves. i had the same issue
submitted byjasmine - 6 years agoA: the reason why your vinyl is skippin because you own one of the suitcase or all in one record players and their needles and counterweight is too heavy. if you get an Audio Technica LP60X it won't skip

Q: I have the previous version of this vinyl. *THE VINYL IS FINE* it’s got deeper ridges in it for the bass that the needle can’t reach on the cheaper record players. If you have a good quality player there is no issue.

Q: when i got my vinyl is it it normal for it to be static in the whole album? because this vinyl is static and i dont know how to fix it

A: Most new vinyl is generally staticky, especially if the record itself has a plastic slipcover on it right out of the package. It should get better the more you play it if you have anything but a suitcase record player. You can also get a cork turntable mat to help lessen some static in general and an anti static vinyl brush. I personally use archival quality inner and outer slip covers for my vinyl as well, also helps to lessen static long term.

Q: How good is the glow in dark? I've had GOTD records before that don't glow at all. Don't want to waste my money if it's the case with this pressing as well.

A: it is awesome. if you didn’t know to activate the glow in the dark, you put a source of light like a flashlight on it and for a few seconds like 5-9 seconds, it glows green

Distorted and skips
First one I bought was super distorted on side A, and skipped a ton on side B. Exchanged it and on the new one isn’t distorted but skips so much more. This is one of my favorite albums so I will be trying to get one that doesn’t skip, at least not this bad

Looks cool, sounds not so cool
Fresh out of the sleeve, this is the noisiest record I've ever played. After cleaning it, it's still the noisiest record I have. So much constant, crackly surface noise. If you like the glow in the dark gimmick and want a cheap and accessible version of this album, go for it. If you want to enjoy the music, listen to it digitally or buy a different pressing.

Skips & Static
I bought a record in stores but it skipped all over the place, to the point that you couldn’t understand it. Target sent me a new one. It’s not as bad as the first one but it still skips too much😞 The static in the background was bad in both records. I’m happy with target customer service though! The new record was sent quickly and replaced with no fuss.

Below average sound quality, poorly packaged
As other reviews have mentioned, the sound quality of the record is below average. There is a lot of static. However, I have heard this is an issue in general for glow in the dark records. It does in fact glow in the dark, but you have to hold a flashlight or hold it up to a light source to see it. I've been told if I leave it in the light for several hours, it will glow on its own just fine. I haven't tried that yet though. I am still keeping this as part of my collection, but it's not my favorite record. Also, it was poorly packaged. It was just thrown in a big box instead of packaging intended for shipping vinyl. So the corners were a little bent. This seems to be a Target only issue.

AMAZING!!
Phenomenal album! The glow is amazing (it's better if you shine some short of light on it before hand). The vinyl does skip if you have a suitcase turntable (like mine) because of vibrations, but to fix it just add a few coins on the needle handle (like in one of the pictures). The sound quality is amazing!! (I got the record pre-owned off a different website). Heavily recommend!
