I didn't want bristles so stiff that they scratched my scalp, but unfortunately these are soft enough that I can't actually use it to detangle my hair. I purchased to replace my old wet brush and was hoping to get an effective plastic free product. It's a nice looking brush and if you have quite short or thin hair, I think it would work well for you. But it's not for long hair.
