[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first saw this doll, I was not impressed. She looked very typical and honestly kind of boring. She is on a model muse body. I finally decided I would give her a try and am I glad I did. The first thing I noticed was the way she looked in the box. Truly amazing! The stock photos do not do this doll justice at all. When I took her out of the box is when I became glad that I had received her. The gown in stock photos looks super cheap, but in reality, the tulle is very soft and high quality. She has a Cinderella type bustle on the back and the tulle drapes beautifully. The glittery, sparkling gown does not loose flecks of glitter. I love her gloves. They are a perfect touch. Her earrings are large and beautifully colored. And now the best part. This doll's hair is exquisitely styled. It is in a braided updo with a small braid encircling a larger braided bun. She is blond with darker low lights, and I love the style. This will make her an exciting doll for redressing and the hair style reminds me of Capucine from the BFMC. The only thing I am not happy with is the way the hair is finished in the back. The end of the braid is just left loose. I am super happy with this doll, especially at her price point, and I will probably keep her on display for a while.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Barbie’s 80th anniversary doll is beautiful, sophisticated, and elegant. My daughter commented she’s never had such a beautiful (or fancy) Barbie. She comes with earrings, shoes, gloves, a stand, and a certificate of authenticity. Because this is a play doll for my daughter, we took it out of the box—the shoes do not stay on without rubber bands and the glitter from the dress rubs off on everything. Even so, my daughter loves her and she’ll surely be in the regular rotation.

I had to pay UPS extra for delivery because Barbie was coming the day I was leaving for Christmas. I was happy to get her before I left!

Her hair and makeup are very sheek. She looks very elegant and she's a beautiful Barbie my daughter will get many hours of playtime from having her.

My daughter loved the earrings and shoes on her. While it may be a collector item for some, my 4 year old has been thrilled to play with it all day. It does come with a certificate of authenticity for those who plan to keep it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 80th Anniversary Barbie doll is movie star chic with her hair styled up, a sparkling red dress with matching heels and gloves and gold earrings. It is perfect for a collector’s display case. I bought this intending to use it as a toy, which was a mistake. The material for the dress is mesh, and so not very durable to play. There are several plastic ties that make the dress flow perfectly in the box, but those ties were difficult to take off. During unboxing, I unintentionally made some small tears in the mesh part of the dress and on one glove. Most unwelcome was the glitter: just handling the doll led to glitter all over. Overall, the doll is beautiful and classic in the way one would expect from an iconic figure. As a toy, this is impractical. Keep this one in the box on a shelf.
