Banquet Frozen Family Size Salisbury Steak - 27oz

I have bought the family size pack of Salisbury steaks for years it is a favorite of the banquet meals and admittedly a flavor that I crave. My spouse purchased a package today and to my unfortunate surprise it was the new recipe… I could not have been more disappointed. I was absolutely taken back by the initial smell when I removed the plastic film. After tasting, I was not impressed. The gravy was far less flavorful and over salted. The meat was dense and spongy and also lacking in flavor. I truly wish this recipe would be scrapped and the previous recipe brought back into production. I do believe it to be an American favorite.

Whatever you changed made it taste horrible. Bring back the old.

I have bought the Salisbury steak forever. The old recipe was so much better than the new. The new recipe has no beef flavor.

The change in flavor and quality is EXTREMELY disappointing!!! Why on earth would you do this and WHO green lit this decision?!?! After all these years, you really made these changes for what? To save a few bucks??? Ridiculous. Bring back the original recipe.

you might as well put everything in a bowl,mixed up/disgusting !! use to be good when everything was in their own compartments,now the potatoes,meat,and gravy gets nasty.......no more for me, and I use to buy these ALL THE TIME, again.......disgusting !

I don't know what happened, but I won't be buying this again. Has a vinegar aftertaste, doesn't brown like it used to and the gravy looks orange. Was not edible. What a shame. It was my go to for quick easy meal.

I am incredibly disappointed with the salisbury steak. We got the family size to feed my 4 children, my husband and myself. The meat was spongy; it feels and tastes like fake meat. It reminded us of dog food. I found 3 hard pieces of whatever in mine, and my daughter had a weird long white piece in hers. She thought it was a bone, but it was too soft to be a bone. My family was excited for a salisbury steak dinner tonight, and saying that everyone was disappointed is an understatement. We did not end up eating it after a couple bites, and I had to cook an entirely new meal for dinner.

I bought this thinking it was the classic Banquet Salisbury steak and it's definitely not. The flavor is wrong it's like mush in your mouth and come to find out they've been using mechanically separated chicken, pork and then beef. I will never buy this for my family again.

I absolutely thoroughly enjoyed the old recipe before y'all recently changed it. The patties seem like they're nothing but filler, like there's no real meat in there and they just taste nasty. The gravy even taste different I think they are disgusting now. I absolutely love them before, I hate this!!! 😞😞😞😞

This was a quick easy to heat, tasty, filling meal. The meal includes two sides, and a little sweet snack. The price was reasonable. Also easy clean up.

The patties are half the size and don't have any brown grill marks. The taste is the same which is very good, but it's not as esthetically pleasing and one patty is no longer a serving size. This box is a 3 person serving not 6.

They recently made the patties smaller, the gravy more watery and the taste is awful. Bring back the old recipe!

I grew up eating banquet Salisbury steak and loved it so have my kids. But the New Salisbury steak recipe is disgusting. Nothing like it used to be. Will no longer be buying this.

What you have done to this meat is a disgrace. I used to love this many years ago. Now.... GROSS!

I bought this a little bit ago and the shape of them and The Taste is off I don't like it and I used to love them it doesn't even look like them picture on the box

You went from 27 ounces to 24. Those three ounces must be where the flavor was stored. The gravy went from a rich brown to watered down tan. The shape changed… not a deal breaker if they tasted the same. And then I know it’s heavily processed food… but now it tastes and looks like a paste that turned solid. I immediately knew it was different when the packaging changed. Opening it the patties were shaped and arranged different… cooked like always but it was not the same. I’d pay an extra fifty cents more a pack for the old ones. My roomie and I ate them at least once a month. If it doesn’t change, I doubt we will put this back on our shopping list.

Less for more. The new recipe is terrible. Once again greed kill a decent product.

This had been a staple in my house for decades. Then instead of it being all beef, which Salisbury steak has always traditionally been, a couple of years ago you decided to suddenly change it into frankenmeat of beef, chicken, and pork. I don't eat pork, and so I took a bite of it and instantly knew something was wrong and looked at the label and saw it had pork in it which really upset me. The change was not announced on the packaging. The frankenmeat has a horrible taste and texture now, and it doesn't taste like Salisbury steak at all. The gravy has changed too and it's awful. I used to buy this, the buffalo chicken strip meal, and the fried chicken meal. Your company has managed to ruin them all. Bring back the old recipes and ingredients and increase the price so that you're not putting out inedible food that's an insult to the consumers. I used to by at least 10 meals per week and now I buy ZERO because you've destroyed them. I see tons of reviews on these products saying how awful the changes you make to the meals are, and yet your company still keeps doing it. You MUST be losing business and I don't understand why you keep degrading your products to a point where it's inedible.

This is a great quick and easy and also budget friendly family style meal. If you are wanting something quick for dinner this is the way to go. There is lots of flavor and my kids really enjoyed them. I made mashed potatoes and corn with it.
