These headphones have garnered positive feedback for their excellent sound quality, comfort, and durability over time. Many guests appreciate the long cable and removable parts, which enhance usability. However, some concerns have been raised regarding the fragility of certain components, particularly the hinges and ear pads. Overall, they are a great choice for both casual listeners and professionals seeking reliable audio performance.

Durable and high-quality
These headphones have been nothing but excellent for me. I've been using them daily for around 6-7 years, and they still sound just as good as they did on day one. I needed to replace the earmuffs after around four years, but otherwise they've held up very well.

20 years old, works like new.
My dad bought these in 2006 and used them constantly for years for his DJ work. I recently found them and have started to use them for my voice acting work and the quality is absolutely like new. Apparently they've stayed the same price too. The only thing I would say isn't great about them is the padding is very flakey, but I'd chalk that up to it's age.

i LUV these headphones
Had a pair of these m50x for about 10 years now!! Wore them to so many DJ gigs all over the place and love them!! Replaced vinyl padding paddies a couple years ago but now it's time to get a new pair cuz one side of the headphones just stopped working. I mean after 10 years y'all!! Gonna get the exact same babies in white or maybe that turquoise color. I don't leave many reviews but wanted to make sure to thank y'all for continuing to make these. I love the sound quality and they're very comfortable, durable and affordable.

Best headphone I ever Have under $200!
Balance and superb sound quality, the only downside is that the plastic parts looks so fragile.

100% Recommend. Make ATH-M50xBL replacement pads!
I bought a pair of the limited edition ATH-M50xBL in 2015. I have mangled, and beaten them more than they deserve. Yet they still work like a champ. Can't see how anyone can complain about build quality. I've dropped these things more than Linus drops components and every time I pick them back up they are perfect. The single one and only complaint that I could make is that I have a limited edition and the material on the padding has worn off and I can't get them replaced in the same color. They've been used pretty much daily for 8 years and still going strong.

Overly Fragile
The outer layer over the fabric flakes off QUICK. And they're cheaply constructed at the foldable joints which holds it snug against your ear. For something so expensive, you want it to last. The audio sounds great and I never had any trouble with the sound. They're comfortable enough to sleep with, especially on a plane, but at the risk of snapping those joints.

Great sound, but poor headband quality.
I've loved these headphones but just a little over a year the band disintegrated and started showering me with dust and flakes from the super thin band. The headband needs some serious focus. These are supposed to be premium headphones.

To tight and way ugly.
So I receive these headphones in the mail after reading they are the best budget headphones available. I wait a while then open them to find the front of the instructions written in Chinese, this is the first time i have ever seen the front page of instructions in Chinese with a little English on the inside. My thoughts of having the best US headphones were soon dampened by the thoughts of some 13 year old Chinese kid sitting in a internet booth wearing them. But upon further investigation it turns out they were made in Taiwan who are not exactly friends with China. Putting the place of origin aside I move on to the overall design that i didn't really like the look of before i bought them only to discover they are just as ugly. It looks like they were designed by a geeky scientist not a musician or a trendsetter. And the name, we all know everything sounds better with an "a" on the end from pasta to coke a cola, but Audiotechnica just sounds like a name of some cheap batteries or junk from the $3 shop trying to sound classy. As for the fit they are way to tight this is demonstrated by the way they twist into a pretzel when not in use. They are way to tight even with nothing in between them with the plastic ends flopping around all over the place. The cord is longish but not long enough to sit on the couch while watching tv. The sound is important but probably not as important as the looks if you are a DJ and I'm sure these geeky looking things wont be a hit with the ladies. I would hate to DJ wearing these as you cant just put them on with one hand and the flipping end is pointless as you just have hard plastic against your ear. Did anyone even consider that when making these overpriced Micky mouse ears oh and don't forget the exposed wires to get your fingers all caught up in. They are like suction cups on the ears no wonder there is no sound escaping they are so tight. So why say they are good, it's like trying to pretend you like your bad Christmas presents.

Great for the studio (when they work)
I've had three pairs of these already and I keep buying them because they're exactly what I like to use in the studio. However, they tend to randomly stop working. Perhaps it's because the cord is so long that I roll over it with my chair without noticing? Or is it retaining moisture from sweaty recording sessions? Whatever the case may be, they sound wonderful for the price.

Great for studio days, not so much daily listening
I use these headphone for everday use and occasonally for more professional/studio time. The extended ford it wonderful when I'm in the studio and need to move to the far corners.,But is a nuisance when I just want to use my affordable high quality headphones walking across campus. Haven't had any issues with the 1/4 adapter but the 1/8(standard male end) doesn't stay conected to a lot of my mobile devices I would have to apply constant pressure to listen to anything on my phone or mp3. Neither of which have had any issues with my pro beats, sony,Marley and jvc headphones. The ear cups suround your ear making them extemly natural feeling with their light weight stoping the ear soreness i have with my pro Beats after having to sit on my ears for a few hours. The leather seems to be cheaper but considering the under 100 price I'd expect that. Visually they have a cool simplistic non attention drawing look, with the ugly stainless steel adjuster clashing with the matte black look. If I had to buy another pair of professional headphone I probably wouldn't buy the mx30 unless I knew they are going to be my studio only phones. So if your just looking for high quality earphones for daily listing is look into the other headphones techinicq has to offer.
