Great compact canoe that fits nicely in the garage
Wanted to get a canoe that could inflate and deflate to fit in my compact SUV. It also needed to comfortably fit a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids under 75 lbs). This one fit the bill! The product comes in a gigantic well made backpack that fits everything very easily. You arent fighting the zipper to get it to close. The 4 compression straps are a good touch and well thought out. It doesn’t come with oars and mine was missing a patch kit. Assembly was easy, and the pump it came with was sufficient. I have an electric inflator which had this inflated in less than 7 minutes. The seats slide in and may require a few palm strikes to get it in firmly, but more on that later. It’s got 3 valves in the rear that any standard SUP pump adapter will work on it. There are two little inflatable valves at the bow and stern of the boat that use a different valve type. Not sure if its necessary to fill those, as I havent and the canoe worked fine. Now for the launching of the canoe. It’s doable as a single adult, but it aint light. I didnt want the two tracking fins on the bottom to get scuffed up or break, so I muscled it on its side into deeper water, then grabbed my gear quickly and threw it in. I’m sure theres a way to improve the sequence, but it would be alot easier if there were two people. The canoe is as stable as other canoes out there. You can definitely capsize it if too much weight goes onto one size. We found it more stable by taking off the wooden seats and kneeling in and rowing it more like a kayak. I intend to use it fishing and would bring one bench at-least to mount my fishing pole holder on it. I wish it was more stable, but this is a canoe, not a dinghy. If they made an outrigger stabilizer, I would be all over it. I like how firm the drop stitch design is and how compact it is. Dries quickly on some saw horses, I recommend it.
