Q: What is the difference between ancestry origins + traits and ancestry traits? There are two different boxes.
A: I had the same question and the short answer is origins and traits is better. According to Google this one has the basics plus other traits. It says traits are things like if you are a night person, how your heart rate recovers and actual physical traits. I don’t know why it’s less money lol but that’s the one I’m going to buy.
submitted byBrookitty - 1 month agoA: I ordered the upgraded, more expensive kit, and received a box that did not say Origins nor Origins+Traits. I called AncestryDNA, and they said the box must be marked with "traits" - mine doesn't.

Q: Does this include the lab cost to send it in?
A: Yes. There's instructions and a label for mailing - that's all you need, prepaid.

Q: Does this require a subscription to see results? Details say that some do, but I plan on purchasing this as a gift and would like to know if the receiver is going to have to pay a subscription fee to see results…
A: You will see results, but if you want to go further with it, and create a family tree, match with relatives, see who AncertryDNA finds as your ancesters, you will want a subscription.

Q: Will siblings have the same results?
A: Not necessarily. Even if you share the same parents, each child can have a different combination of genes from their parents. Think about how different some siblings can look.
