Fire tablets don't support Google Play Store and can only access apps from the Amazon Appstore, which is a fundamental difference from regular tablets. However, the Fire HD 8 Kids Pro includes the Amazon Kids digital store where children can browse and request kid-friendly apps available in the Amazon Appstore, and you'll receive notifications through the Parent Dashboard at parents.amazon.com to approve or deny requests. You can also manually add approved apps to your child's profile through the Parent Dashboard by checking what's available in the Amazon Appstore directly from your Fire tablet. If YouTube Kids specifically is essential and not available in the Amazon Appstore, you may want to consider whether a different tablet platform supporting Google Play Store would better meet your needs. Bad! Cheap!

I understand the this is not the “nicest” or most expensive tablet and maybe honestly you got what you pay for right. We bought this for our almost 4 year old, thinking it has a case and surely is pretty sturdy for an advertised “kids” tablet. Nope he dropped it ONE TIME. ONE TIME. Not even hard, not even from a tall space, one time and the screen SHATTERED! Cheap cheap cheap cheap. Would not recommend: don’t waste your money.
