About the Book
Presents a board book in the shape of a storefront that folds out and stands up to resemble a street of shops and restaurants, all of which are named in alphabetical order and hide flaps that reveal alphabetical stories about the twenty-six animals (from alligator to zebra) that live on the street and the alliterative actions they take. The reader is invited to turn the accordion book over and view an elongated park scene.

There's so much to discover in this ingenious book! Read the funny rhyming text, lift the flaps, and learn the letters of the alphabet. And when you're finished, flip the book and have fun with the play scene on the reverse! The fun format and signature bold artwork from Ingela P. Arrhenius makes this a great choice for learning ABCs and imaginative play.
About the Author
Jonathan Emmett worked as an architect before becoming a children's author and novelty book designer, which may explain the inspiration behind Alphabet Street. He is the author of more than sixty books, including Bringing Down the Moon and The Princess and the Pig, and his work has been translated into more than thirty languages. He likes building things and taking things apart, playing games and solving puzzles, and letting his imagination run riot.
Ingela P. Arrhenius is a freelance illustrator and graphic designer who has always loved to draw. She is the author-illustrator of Animals, City, Pop-up Ocean, Pop-up Jungle, and Pop-up Things That Go, as well as the illustrator of a series of lift-the-felt-flaps books. Ingela P. Arrhenius lives and works in Sweden.
