Advent Calendar Pillar Candle - Threshold™

Complete disappointment. Like many said, beautiful candle, wonderful days 1-19 but then the reckoning of holiday disappointment rushed in on the 20th like finding out the presents you ordered will arrive on the 26th of December. The worst part is there is no returning the abominable wick burner at this point because it’s over 30 days since purchased. Christmas is now frozen with five days remaining on the prematurely burnt out wick. I’m a mom and this was my little joy this year. Thanks a lot Target.

Beautiful candle but the wick isn’t long enough and put itself out on day 21. Really bummed to not be able to complete the advent burn.

It was more labor intensive than I would’ve liked, but I got the hang of trimming it every day so the candle would burn correctly. But now we hit the 21st and it just stops? Not just mine but my mom’s too. Like, who designed this? I’m sure everyone else is realizing now how annoying this is, that’s it’s to late to do anything about it now, and a reminder of why I don’t spend very much money at target anymore 👎🏻👎🏻

Just hit the end of the wick on December 21. Your cannot burn down the entire length of candle. How did this product flaw go unnoticed? Very disappointing.

This is a beautiful candle, but it does not burn well. I have had to constantly cut away the wax by the numbers for it to burn all the way through because they are printed on a plastic like material. The 'plastic' seems to prevent the heat from melting the wax properly and actually catches fire if it gets near the flame. Also, the description for the candle states that it should not burn for more than 3 hours at once but I have not been able to reach the next number burning it for less than 5.

Love the concept. Target needs better execution if they choose to bring this product back next year. Looks beautiful and was a lovely new tradition with our kids helping us slow down and appreciate the beauty and simplicity of the season. BUT the wick ended at day 20!!! Very frustrating. The pillar candle itself does burn unevenly because the design is printed on a separate wax film that burns slower. This causes the number side to be significantly higher than the non number side. You’ll need to burn for a few hours to prevent tunneling. Takes a few times to get the cadence right. Very unfortunate that after all of the trial and error effort to make this candle work, our new tradition was cut short because of a manufacturing error.

Takes a long time to burn and now that we're on day 20 it won't even burn anymore. There's something around the wick that isn't flammable. Pretty disappointed.

Absolutely Love this candle. It burns nicely with no soot when I extinquish it. I had to throw away my advent candles this year because they burned unevenly and dripped terribly. I decided to look for new advent candle ideas and Target Pillar Candle came up. I have a small spot on my counter and my usual advent wreath with candles are too big for my spot but his candle fits my spot perfectly. It's Lovely and every time I light it brings me hope, peace and JOY!! Yes the burn is slow but its beauty makes it worth it! I really hope that Target brings this candle back next year!! I'll be looking for it.

So this candle is adorable and I love the idea of it. Be aware that the first few times you light it you will need to let it burn for quite some time to get it going. It has to burn for a minimum of several hours to move the wax down the numbers, but it’s such an adorable tradition and way of marking the passing days of the season!

Finally purchased in time for December to start. I really like the design and concept, but it does take a long time to burn down each day!

Looks beautiful, but as others have said does not work as an advent candle. Just burns down the middle and does not burn the numbers down.

We are really enjoying this candle. I have spent years trying to find one that doesn't burn to quickly. This is a fun way to countdown to Christmas. I hope Target has these again next year.

I’m convinced that the powers that be at Target decided to prank us all and repurpose a bunch of emergency candles to make this product. WHY does it take 12 hours to burn through 1 number?!? This is the longest burning candle of all time.

I love this candle and I’m shocked at all the bad reviews. It is so gorgeous, was so affordable and such a cozy tradition. Every night when it gets dark I light it and blow it out right before bed (5-10pm approximately). It works perfectly. People complaining about it burning slowly confuse me. That’s the best thing about it!!!
