The solar light provides plenty of light after dark. The motor is powered by the same battery that runs the light. No electric! All solar! Their is also an adjustable setting to auto close the umbrella at a certain wind speed. I set mine for 17mph and it works perfectly! Highly recommended.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Above height smart umbrella is not only a super high quality umbrella, its technology at its best. Everything from the solar power, automatic remote controlled open and close mechanism to the built in light is simply amazing. I was impressed when assembling the solar panel, wind sensor and light to the main umbrella on how Above developed a system that clicked into place and water tight. Although the battery has a USB charging port, I have not need to use it because the solar battery charging system has kept the battery charged. The light is amazingly bright and has allowed us to enjoy dinner and drinks under the umbrella late into the night. The remote comes with a holder that can be attached to the pole of the umbrella, so it doesn’t get lost. Opening and closing the umbrella is really fun and everyone who we tell about it wants to play with it. At first, I was worried what happen if the battery dies when it’s up, not to worry there is a manual disconnect to lower it. The wind sensor is like magic, it just works. I have notice that a single gust of wind won’t actuate the closing, but a steadier wind is need. It does have 3 different wind speed settings and I have set mine at the highest and works great. We leave the umbrella open all the time and let the umbrella determine when it need to close. I do appreciate the quality workmanship and detail Above has put into making this product, even down to the detail of giving an extra battery for the remote. So even without all the technology this is a great umbrella but, with the automation, light and solar it’s evaluated to a whole new level of functionality, technology, and quality.

The remote control feature seem to be what get everyone including me. without ever leaving your seat you can raise and lower the umbrella, or turn on the light which is absolutely a must have from now on. The Fabric has a elegant look that will enhance just about any set you put it with.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love our new Above 9’ Smart Umbrella, I’m amazed that when the wind gets to a certain MPH (you can select one of three settings), the umbrella automatically lowers through the wind sensor - just in case you left it up by mistake. Love the solar panel and LED light ring. The remote control is magnetized to attach to the pole… no more lost remote. Follow the directions and make sure the umbrella stand is heavy enough. The only negative I have is the screw in the remote appears stripped … hopefully the battery included in the remote lasts the entire season.

This umbrella is well made. Instead of very thin metal holding the umbrella up this has a good 1/2” rod plus it is constructed underneath with the same size rod to hold up and not bend. The top part that has the solar panel and the wind detector in it is a hard plastic and seems very durable to weather. The remote has a place on the pole to put it and keep it there. It holds by a magnet. It goes up and down smoothly. It has a nice little light inside solar powered. I had put my umbrella up and had to leave and when I came back home the wind had picked up so my umbrella had shut on it's own. I truly can't say enough about this umbrella. I love it.

I received this item in the color Spectrum Dove, which is said to be grey in color, but it actually appears to be a sandy color that matches perfectly with my house! I was amazed that this umbrella has a solar panel and LED lighting that you can operate from a remote control. There is no need to run outside to put the umbrella down when it’s windy, as it can detect this on its own! Also surprising, this very eye-appealing umbrella is weather, stain and UV resistant! It is easy to clean with just soap and water. I was concerned that it would fade over time, but I see there is reassurance that it won’t! I am very happy that I now have this for my backyard and have found the perfect place for it! I am so excited to be using this umbrella! I have always wanted one and now I have one! I will enjoy sitting under this in my backyard for years to come!

The options this umbrella has are unbelievable; a remote control to open/close, a built in solar panel to charge the built in LED lights, a wind sensor that automatically close the umbrella if it detects the winds being too strong. It is high quality and it is easy to assemble. I would highly recommend this umbrella.

It is not hard to put together but you need to follow the instructions on how to install the wind sensor and the solar panel. Once installed you will never have to open or close manually. The light underneath the umbrella is perfect. It comes with a remote control; you push one button on it that opens and closes. The best feature on this is the wind sensor at the top that will close the umbrella before the wind gets high. You will never have to charge it; you can even plug an USB adaptor in it. The material is a heavy-duty canvas and is mildew resistant. This is great for the beach or your backyard.

It's high quality and the best part is that it's smart and can detect high winds (the lowest/default setting is 13 mph) and automatically close itself. I love that it's solar powered so I don't have to worry about charging a battery. It also has a light underneath the umbrella. The remote control is super handy; there's even a holder on the stand to hold the remote when not in use. There is a bit of assembly when it first arrives, but it's super easy to do and takes very little time. Overall, a great umbrella. Highly recommended!
