71" Beginnings 5 Shelf Bookcase Brown - Sauder

I have wanted this item for a long time, so I was happy to get it as a Christmas gift this year. It was not too hard to put together, but I ended up putting thw bottom piece on wrong, but I still love it!

Yes, It's exactly what fits my space. I bought 2 units in the color "Summer Oak". I got confused doing the bottom section parts in steps 1&2 then switching to the top section in steps 3,4 & 5. But it worked out ok. Very precise and high quality in everything. Bravo!! I have several other Great Sauder items! How can I order two (2) Item F shelves in color "Summer Oak" and eight (8) item 17 shelf support pins?

The product, direct from Malaysia, is pedestrian at best. It certainly fits in well with the consumer driven culture, that is its disposable.

The construction and materials of this piece are of much lower quality than past products I've purchased from Sauder. The backer board is much like cereal, box cardboard, and came to me slightly damaged. I'm going to replace it with sturdier material myself. I will not purchase from Sauder again

Second one I buy, the adaptable shelf height is a huge plus in this type of furniture, makes it versatile and a great option overall

This bookshelf was so easy to put together, literally less than 30 minutes (although I did use a power drill instead of manual screwdriver). Seems sturdy enough to hold everything I need it to, and matches up perfectly with all of my other cherry furniture.

The cabinet couldn't even stand on its own without putting the easily torn backing on it. Directions showed CAM screws that didn't match what were sent making it hard to figure out how far to screw them in. One side would not fit in with the cam screws till I took the hidden CAM out first and then reinserted it. That side is only loosely attached so who knows how long it will remain standing. Customer service was very helpful with replacing torn backs (the reason I didn't give this product a 1 on the review). However, when I called in to see if I could order another adjustable shelf to sit on the bottom shelf to cover up the mistake I made when I attached the shelf wrong side up I was told they wouldn't send a shelf for that reason and that I'd have to take the bottom off and replace the backing. Even spoke to a manager with the same result. As I said, this is not a particularly sturdy product and I don't know if it will survive the repair. I'm also 73 with some arthritis and assembling the unit was hard on me and difficult to do.

This 5 shelf bookshelf worked out beautifully in my walk in closet to help arrange my shoe collection. It's very sturdy and I added three more shelves to it for maximum storage.

It was easy to put together, after I put it together I realized that had a self backwards. I refuse to take it apart yo fix it. Lol

I'm using this as a bookshelf. I would have liked it if there had been more cams (at least 6 instead of 4) to more solidly join the top and bottom parts. I also expected the backboards to be a little thicker.They seem really flimsy. I've bought Sauder products before (computer cabinet) and I usually like the quality that Sauder produces.

When me an my husband got married we were limited with funds. My husband researched company's thay made entertainment centers. We found a Sauder unit I loved a little more than what we could afford. But we saved an got it. That was between 1988 an 1993 we still have that unit to this day.my husband has made modifications to it. It hold a 65 inch TV an everything that goes with that.. We have been married for 37 years..So after buying cheap shelves I started looking for Sauder shelves.. If this bookcase is anything like our first piece from Sauder we will ne Blessed. Sauder products are reliable, easy to assemble, and durable. I have pieces over 20 years old that are still in great condition. When I shop for these kind of products I always choose Sauder over other brands.
