Useless Garbage
I guess I got a dud, but it never tightened up. I could get it close to staying up for a second, but it loosened almost immediately. The small ring between the two rods would slide down the smaller end of the rod, but it still wouldn’t hold tension even when I held the ring in place. I would say to check this in the store before buying, but since the entire thing is shrink wrapped that would be impossible.

Surprisingly sturdy for a wide space
I’m using this tension rod in a wide doorway (about 4’10”) to hang a pretty heavy garland, and it’s holding up without any slipping. I extended it all the way and tightened it, and so far it hasn’t budged. For the price, it’s definitely worth it.
