this is thicker than 1mm, perhaps 1.2mm? it almost looks thicker than some cord I have that says it's 1.2, though. yes, it does fray quite a bit on the ends, but you can cover the ends with just a little glue to stop that. it's a lot of cord, I've really been using it and still have a decent amount left. perfect for kandi.
