Thin but foam holds up to daily use. I've bought 4 of these. 3 put of 4 were the same color. The most recent one (4th), it looks like they switched the colors around. The darker color for the background and lighter color for the letters/numbers. I didn't mind that they didn't match the rest. If uniformity matters to you, I recommend going to the store to ensure you get the same mix when buying more than one pack. The darker background looks nicer, to be honest.

I'm disappointed this was the second set I purchased and one of the pieces came like this. Clearly a manufacturing mistake that wasn't caught, but now I'm stuck with this piece that I'm sure will accumulate toddler food crumbs and spills because I don't live close to a target so returning it is just a hassle.
