In reality, I was probably carrying a few extra lb's having neglected Adonis-maintenance while finished my CFA, but that is neither here nor there. Two years and dozens of protein shakes and countless Jager Bombs later, lets just say I needed to buy a lot of new suits.To quote Arnold in "Pumping Iron": "I don't have any weak points. I had weak points three years ago, but my main thing in mind is, my goal always was, to even out everything to the point... that everything is perfect."The Bowflex dumbbells are excellent for P90X and any other at-home workout. I greatly appreciate their size since I live in a small apartment in New York City. Maybe you freaks who have 3000 square feet can fit a whole gym in your basement, but I'm limited to a pair of dumbbells, a pull up bar, a coffee table, and my 3 televisions. I also have sufficient room to surround myself with mirrors, but I have yet to do so at this time.Switching the weights is very fast and easy, even the typical roidheads at the gym could do it, not that I would invite them over to my apartment. That would be weird.Con: $300 is expensive, some would say building your body to perfection is priceless, but those people are a bunch of jerks because money doesn't grow on trees. I could have bought 10 remote control helicopters with $300, so I know exactly how much money that is.Lastly, unfortunately just buying these doesn't make you as strong as philyodaddy, some work is required. This is a great product. I wonder why they didn't scale this product up for bench pressing and dead lifts?

These dumbbells went on sale on Prime Day, and I always wanted these so I pulled the trigger and bought them. They are a great space saver when compared to how many weights they replace. Only gripe is that they are some what bulky when using them since they are larger than regular dumbbells. But the more I use them the more I get used to them. Great product hope it continues to work well.

Seriously, they are the best dumbbells I have ever used. They take up a grand total of 3 square feet of floor space, less then a foot high, and adjust from almost no weight to 52.5 pounds! the same weight range in non adjustable equiptment would literally take up and entire good size closet or portion of a room closer to 10 square feet and 5 foot high on a wrack!My only complaint is with my own hands on these, had to order a set of lift gloves because I was getting blister from using dumbbells again after years of not, at no fault of the weights themselves!

Bought these for Body Beast. They are perfect! I love the variety of weight I now have & they are super quick & easy to switch out so even when doing drop sets they work great. I doubt I will ever need to go all the way up to 52.5 lbs, but you never know! They are very solid weights - you can tell they are solid construction & I anticipate using them for many years. Only complaint I have (if you could even call it a complaint) is they are a little long because of the various weight plates. I am a petite female so they can feel bulky w/ some exercises. However, I am able to quickly adapt. And when I began to add up the amount of money I would spend to buy all the individual weights I need for the Body Beast program, this was the clear winner. It also saves me space which is important since I don't currently have a dedicated workout room.

Great addition to our other bowflex equipment. Coordinates great with our xtreme 2 and bxe116 elliptical. Husband loves the fact that he can have a wide selection of weights with only 2 dumbbells. We highly recommend these. Thanks!

This equipment is just outstanding. So each to use. I’m rehabbing my left shoulder so I have to use lower weights for my left side upper body workout. I can quickly switch weights as I move back and forth between my left and right side. This takes up so little space.

I was very skeptical when first purchasing this dumbbells. After using them for a couple months and thoroughly testing them out, I am impressed more than I thought I would be. You obviously cannot throw these around like normal dumbbells, but if you keep that in mind you will love this product. This item is the ultimate time saver when working out with others and make transitions for drop sets and other exercises that need weight changing to be as efficient as possible. I have nothing but good things to say about this product.

Easy to use and adjust. Easy to hold for dumb bells. I did get a 2 year warranty because of other reviews I read. So far the warranty is not necessary.

Great dumb bells. They work great and save space. They are bigger than they look in the picture, but smaller than a full weight set that this covers. I just got them and don't know the longevity of the weights, but they feel very durable and well made. I highly recommend this product.

I was a bit worried about them just arriving, and even if they arrived, if they would be in good condition. Well, it arrived on time! And with no problems what so ever! What a relief! These are THE BEST dumbbells I've ever had and used and the gear mechanisms that control the pound increments to increase or decrease are amazing! Not one problem, all complexity working in perfect sync. I would recommend these to anyone! Oh, and there's no problem with them falling off onto a part of your body, they are locked in place. :)

I have used mine quite a bit from my purchase date. It is great for upper body and lower body exercises. They are expensive but it will be difficult to grow out of them. You can purchase multiple dumbells for multiple exercises or one set for all exercises. They are perfect for squats and lunges along with bench and curls. It takes seconds to change weight, and I have not had any issues with the mechanicisms. Many people complain about that but if you handle them with care (do not drop) then you should have not problems.

Love love love these. Perfect for lifting at home and a better price option then just continuing to buy a set at every weight when I need them. Easy to quickly switch weight, not too bulky (though takes some getting used to), and gotta love the free Walmart shipping for such a heavy package!

Easy to use, easy and quick to change the weights, and a comfortable grip. You can do so many different workouts with these dumbbells. I also bought an adjustable bench to workout at home, but you can get creative and use a thick towel instead if you don’t want to buy a bench.

I just purchased these for doing p90X workouts and they are perfect! I have the stand to help prevent back injury when I put them down and I can adjust the weights within seconds. Bought these because we had smaller dumb bells laying all over the place. These have allowed us to get rid of them. You can change the weight as quickly as a few seconds. My husband didn't want to lift large amounts of weight any longer so he also uses these. They are made for both of us and I would recommend these to anyone interested in weight training at home. They go from 5.5 lbs to 52.5 lbs with plenty of exercises for different parts of the body. We have had for 45 days and so far they have been a great investment.

Bought these for a gift for my son and he loves them! They are well designed and work great. Very convenient to be able to change weights easily and they take up a small amount of space.

Excellent product for the guy that does not have time to go to the gym. I'm not a heavy lifter, just an average Joe trying to stay in shape so I don't bang these around too much so I'm not sure how they would hold up for a gym rat. These are perfect for me because I can get a lot of different exercises in within a short period of time and they don't take up a lot of space. I keep them in my guest room and throw them in the closet when I have guests over.

Up front I'll confess that I would really prefer to have a rack and separate weights, but I don't have space in my apartment and it's a pain to move separate dumbbell weights. This isn't a criticism of the product, but saying if you have a lot of space for working out and don't move often, separate dumbbells for each weight may be a better option. Depending on the type of dumbbells selected matching all the weight options available with the BowTech would take a lot of weights and space.The biggest downside is the time to switch between weights. With separate dumbbells, drop the current weight and pick up the next. For the BowTech the weights must be seated in their cradle and four dials adjusted. If I'm following a video like P90X, I find my weight switches are slower than those on the video. It's less an issue when I'm working out at my own pace. I also like the BowTech for drop sets, easy to put dumbbells in cradle, select next weight down, several times. Doing that with separate dumbbells usually means a floor littered with weights or reracking between drop sets, which is pretty much as slow as dialing the next weight on the BowTech. The weight switching time is unavoidable in a system like this, and that said the BowTech switching method is as fast as a system like this will get. The dumbbells do need to be positioned correctly on the cradles, and sometimes it takes an extra second to align the dumbbell with the other plates on the cradle still and seat properly to unlock the switching mechanism. Each side of the dumbbell can be set to a different weight. I don't take advantage of that in any of my exercises so can't comment.Obviously these aren't as solid as one piece dumbbells or plates with collars, but the amount of play in the parts is minimal and there is no distracting clanking between plates during movement.So in terms of convenience these adjustable dumbells are awesome. They take up minimal space and pack easily for moving by strapping them down to their cradle. Switching is slower than separate dumbbells but fast for a system like this, and awesome for drop sets. They give me a lot of options for working out at home on those days I don't make it to the gym.
