The back side is soft but the top is kind of rough. It reminds me more of upholstery material. That and the odd scent it had right out the package were the only downfalls. It feels very durable and I love the colors and texture though. It’s a very beautiful duvet set!

But after washing it, it didn’t smell like that, thankfully. When I wash it, I put it in the dryer and all the fuzzies filled my dryer vent twice so I would be aware of that. The pattern is really pretty. It’s modern. It keeps a clean classic style in the bedroom. I hated the material it felt like a washcloth or a Grandma blanket. It was my favorite material so I will not be using this for my bed, but I am going to keep it in case somebody would like it or for when a guest come over and we need extra Bedding
