Q: How do I get the strong rubber smell to go away? I bought it two days ago and have been airing it outside but still the smell is too strong to bring it in.

Pungent rubber smell
I just bought two of these mats last night. They smell awful. They reek of rubber. It’s so pungent that I can taste rubber while breathing through my mouth. I intend to use vinegar or baking soda to help dissipate the fumes. I had the smaller size mats and loved those so I’m willing to tolerate the hopefully temporary rubber smell. I’m hoping my house stops smelling like discount tire in the next week. Wish me luck!

Overpowering smell
Something terrible must have happened to this rug - the one I purchased smelled so strongly of burning rubber it was unbearable to have in the house for more than one minute. The smell was noticeable on the ride home while the rug was still wrapped up, but I thought it was from a car fire or accident on the highway. It is so awful I may just throw it away and forgo the $17 refund.

Strong bad smell
I ordered 2 and they came wrapped in plastic. I left them like that until the next day and I noticed a bad smell. When I opened the plastic it became clear where the smell was coming from. These smell so strongly of gasoline. I will be returning.
