Just so you know, microfiber is thinner than cotton due to the fineness of the fibers woven into the fabric. In regards to the zipper, this sounds like a manufacturer's defect, which is very surprising to us given the amount of perfect sets we ship daily. We're sure if you contact Target directly, they'll be able to assist with a refund.

Great but messy

This was soft, specifications were exactly as reported, loved the color. The only problem was it was so light weight that unless you had your sheets immaculate, it shows every ripple or line. I hated how my bed looked messy if you sat on it, too. I’m on the OCD side but if you like the messy bed look, then these are for you. The taupe even had the perfect bluish undertones. Just couldn’t live with the ’mess’.
